It could have been the time when you first walked through Washington Park, and you found that one nurse tree you could sit on, enjoy some rays of sun through the canopy, and listen to the whisper of the Sound on the shore. Or maybe it was when your folks took you skiing at Mount Baker and you saw ice-blue chunks calving off the face of Mount Shuksan. It could have been the time you crossed the finish line after an arduous solo adventure race into the arms of your loving and supportive family who didn’t even mention your saturated jersey or salty kisses. Or maybe it was when you joined the gang for the Saturday bike ride, or Sunday run—and met new friends to train with. It could have been the time you and a friend kayaked from Friday Harbor to Jones Island and found that it wasn’t ants that were interested in your lunch, but overly-friendly deer. Or maybe it was when you topped that rise, be it Mount Baker or Mount Index, or just the next hill. What a view you found, what a world you live in. At some point you fell in love with the outdoor adventures and experiences that the Pacific Northwest offers. For those who press on with the summit close and the sun lower than you want it to be after a long day and a longer hike… |

Adventures NW is a free, quarterly publication locally produced by individuals with a long history living and playing in the northwest corner of the Pacific Northwest. We heard from others and saw for ourselves a need for a magazine that fills the gap between Seattle and B.C.— one that informs and celebrates all our region has to offer. Adventures NW fills that need. We want readers to think of Adventures NW as their resource not only for discovering outdoor events and activities in the Pacific Northwest, but as an inspiration to race... play... experience... to try new adventures and delve into all that our region has to offer. |
